These testimonials provide an insight in to the delivery of Generation Pro Cycling Events, the way in which we work alongside local authorities, and the professional landing of the events themselves.

Claire Hoskins - Director of Asset Strategy
East Riding of Yorkshire Council

We worked with Generation Pro Cycling Events following recommendations from other authorities and British Cycling.

They offered a full delivery programme to align to, were clear about roles and responsibilities, were open, professional, and incredibly easy to work with. Importantly they delivered a first class event from start to finish, enabling lots of opportunity for young and old to get involved and aligning with the Council’s aspirations in terms of the re-delivery of Beverley Grand Prix.

We saw a huge public turn out and the event was safely run right through to re-opening of our roads alongside contracted suppliers and volunteers

John Robinson - Chief Executive
Newark and Sherwood District Council

Newark Town Centre races was a fantastic evening of elite and community cycling. In addition to supporting our ambitions to increase participation in cycling and less reliance on the car, the event increased footfall into the town, bringing visitors into Newark from outside of the area

Anthea Jones - Senior Account Manager - Communications & Public Affairs – Dudley MBC UK

We were guided to Generation Pro Cycle Events Ltd by British Cycling to help us deliver, alongside local cycling groups, on the legacy left by the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Our ambition was to ensure the continuation of professional cycle sport across the streets of Dudley and to inspire people to have a healthy lifestyle by way of free to spectate events.

The Generation Pro team were professional in planning, enabling and delivering the whole process, from start to finish they worked collaboratively with our internal highways department and events teams to accommodate needs and requests. We’ve now worked for a second year with GPCE and it feels that we have taken a step further on, learning and evolving solutions from lessons learnt in year one.

The Dudley Grand Prix formed an integral part of our Black Country Festival in 2023 & 2024, it’s helped increase the profile of the town and attracted spectators from all around the UK.

Julie King - Events Manager – Major Events

Sheffield City Council UK

Working inside a metropolitan city centre like Sheffield comes with really complicated challenges.

Generation Pro Cycle Events work year-round to solve all manner of issues for us; from ensuring that effected businesses are updated, creating a safe working circuit to adapt to our every changing city scape, working with our entertainment and civic colleagues, through to helping shape our outdoor city strategy.

The community ride was incredibly popular with nearly 100 participants of all ages demonstrating the social impact events like the grand prix have the ability to unlock. We’ve worked with the team for 10 years now and have no doubt that each year they rise to the challenge of delivering the Sheffield Grand Prix, which attracts around 7,500 people each July.

Adam Norris, Senior Health Improvement Officer, Sport & Active Recreation,

Barnsley MBC UK

We have worked with Generation Pro for the last two years. This partnership came about through their drive to re-introduce a Barnsley Town Centre race to the borough. It was clear from our first meeting with Generation Pro that they were very driven and passionate about the project which gave us confidence that they could deliver a fantastic event. The aim of the event was to deliver a high profile cycling event that drives visitors into the town centre but also to increase the awareness of cycling and raise the profile of the related opportunities for the people of Barnsley.

Generation Pro have been the driving force for this project over the course of our partnership bringing in over £10k of sponsorship and committing endless hours to make sure that this event is delivered safely and on budget. As a result of their efforts, we have received top reviews from British Cycling for the quality of the event and this down to Generation Pros passion, commitment and leadership skills.

Through our partnership we have also begun to explore other ways to grow cycling in Barnsley and support more of Barnsley residents to get on their bike, helping submit a successful application to Sport England on behalf of Barnsley Road Club to receive funding to become a ‘Go Ride Club’  and essentially become the first ‘GO Ride Clubs’ in Barnsley which will massively improve our youth cycling offer in the borough.

Through our work with Generation Pro we have experienced absolute dedication to the cause and a drive and determination to make this the best event possible and a real passion to grow the sport of cycling in Barnsley.
