A VERY WARM WELCOME

Welcome to the North Lincolnshire Womens Classic. This is the National B season opener for Women in the UK.

Whilst this is the first-year of running, we can see the potential to create a really excellent event both from our headquarters, and the nature of the Hainton circuit. The winner of this race will have to earn their stripes on this punchy circuit. This should warm you up for the next few weeks of stage racing at the Peaks 2 Day and the start of the National Road Series at the 9th ANEXO/CAMS Women's CiCLE Classic.

We wish you every enjoyment today, and over the season to come.

Thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors, suppliers, riders and teams for supporting this event.

Good Luck.

  • Full changing facilities, both communal and private

  • Communal showers via the weighing in room, and cubical showers in the women's 'specific' facilities.

  • Toilet facilities, inc disabled.

The medical, and wash rooms are out of bounds and will be taped across the door ways.

ENTRANT AND VOLUNTEER PARKING Due to the very nature of a public horse race event facility, there is a sizeable quantity of car parking space.

Whilst you can bring a horse, it is not mandatory.

The entrant car park is situated opposite the main entrance to the racecourse as illustrated below - Although this is mostly on grass, it is a well drained field with only a very minor gradient.

Please park courteously both individually and as a team. All parking is at your own risk, and we take no responsibility for damage or losses associated with this event.

Timings

MAIN RACECOURSE CAR PARK  We ask that NO individual entrant, official, or volunteer vehicles access the main racecourse entrance, this will be only for vehicles that are to be in the convoy (Ie NEG / Lead / Commissaire Cars, Medics, Neutral Service and team vehicles that will be in the convoy draw.). If you asked to leave the area, please don't take offence, it is for the safety of the entrants who may be on bikes in this area.

The parking for the convoy vehicles within the Racecourse main area is all tarmac, thus suitable for motorcycles.

  • Can NEG motorcycles be positioned immediately before the main gates for ease of exit to Legsby Road.

  • Can Lead Vehicles & Comm 2 please order between the Main Gates and Winners Enclosure leaving a bit of room for the NEG.

  • Additional convoy vehicles inc Chief Comm, Medics, Neutral Service, and Team Cars - Please position your vehicles towards the rear of HQ/ betting shop / roundabout, and remember to leave a good space for the riders to gather.

Any riders crossing the broken white lines, solid white lines or hatched areas will risk disqualification. Any riders taking on gels must return them to their pockets and not litter the course. RACE COMMUNICATIONS All race communications will be by UHF radio. Separate channels will be assigned for marshals, organisation and commissaires and will be advised as appropriate. A radio check will be carried out before the start of the race.

RACE MANAGEMENT The race will operate under Traffic Regulation Orders facilitated by the National Escort Group, Accredited Marshals and volunteer marshals. The race runs through a number of small villages so please be cautious of park cars and public driveways at all times.

Unless specifically indicated otherwise, all junctions must be negotiated in the correct direction. In the event that an accident may happen, or you are unable to complete the race whilst on the course, please exit the road safely to the left and report to the nearest marshal point. The marshals will all carry radios and will assist your return to the headquarters. National Escort Group motorcycle outriders will be in operation, so please be aware of the presence of motorbikes during the event. If you drop behind the race convoy, junctions will not be managed for you and you must adhere to the highway code and negotiate junctions as you would on a training ride.

Neutral Service

TEAM CARS Team cars may be permitted in the convoy. The position of the vehicles will be determined by a draw.

Drivers of team cars need to have “Team Manager” status on their BC licence. If you are a Team Manager and wish to put a car in the convoy please send to the organiser Click here  the drivers name, date of birth and BC licence number along with the make, model and registration number of the vehicle to be used.

The Chief Commissaire will manage the draw process and allocation of car numbers

Servicing and feeding from team cars will be allowed ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE ONLY. This will be strictly enforced.

NEUTRAL SERVICE  If you have no Team Car but you have spare wheels, we will have a signed area in the HQ for riders to deposit this equipment. Your equipment needs to be labelled or marked clearly so the NS can provide you with efficient service.

If you use this service, please remember to swiftly return/collect any wheels from them at the end of the race.

HOSPITALS  The nearest hospitals providing accident and emergency facilities are:

Lincoln County Hospital, Greetwell Road, Lincoln, LN2 5QY.

Breifing and Roll out

RIDER BRIEFING  The rider briefing will occur at 09:50 am in the car park of Market Rasen Racecourse. Please be prompt, and be respectful of the instructions given by the commissaire – they are for YOUR safety, not for the commissaire.

Upon this briefing we will also be checking your numbers, and unnecessary/illegal equipment. Please also ensure you do not litter – the use of the car park is entirely a good will gesture from the racecourse management.

NEUTRALISED ROLL-OUT - Route   Prior to the race, there will be a 6.2km neutralised roll out from the racecourse to North WIllingham which might take as much as 20 mins. The peloton may be brought to a halt during this roll out as the peloton will turn right on two occasions.

This is to ensure a safe start to the race.

Once it is safe to do so, the race will be started by the withdrawal of the flag from the lead commissaire car window.

THE CIRCUIT - Route  The 10 mile circuit can be roughly described as rolling terrain, with some short ascents and technical corners.

You can watch a video of the neutral roll out route, and full course here   Click 'more' to see the features links

It passes through a series of small rural Lincolnshire villages.

There is approximately 170m of climbing throughout each lap, meaning a total ascent/descent of 1020m throughout the race The race will take 6 laps of this circuit.

All movement instructions will be announced from the commissaires via race radio.

Feed Zone

FEED ZONE   Please park ALL VEHICLES at the Heneage Arms - https://www.theheneagearms.co.uk/ which is where this route starts from.

This is located here

DO NOT PARK ON THE ROADSIDE

There will be a cordoned off area provided in the car park to the rear of the buildings, but as per the HQ, please park courteously

Feed zone start is : https://w3w.co/lurching.aliens.footpath

Feed zone finish is : https://w3w.co/apron.centuries.inflation

The Feedzone area is indicated by the GREEN line on this map

Feeding is only to be from the riders left hand side

Any hungry begging organisers / commissaires can be fed from any side, only in biscuits, but definitely not after dark

The good news is its all downhill to the feedzone.... :-)

We have a collective responsibility to preserve good will and positive sentiment towards bike racing on the roads in the UK. This plays one part of it. If you are in the FZ please ensure you remove all your litter, and also have a scan for other litter to make a positive contribution.

Thank you in advance.

LEAVE NO TRACE

Return to HQ

RETURNING BACK TO THE HEADQUARTERS  - Route  As we are not taking a full peloton in convoy back as one, you can return from the finishing line using some quieter roads to Market Rasen Racecourse. This is a 8.4km route using some very minor B roads, so be mindful of potholes, and grit that may have built up. The route will be signed.

Media

Media  Any photographers or content creators, please can you include the hashtag of #NLWClassic in any of your postings, and any riders posting media, please be sure to credit the creator and seek permission wherever possible if you do not have the copyright.

Any riders creating on-bike footage, please can we ask that you give access to us to showcase the event.

At the finish of the race, we ask all photographers to adhere to the marked out photography line which will be set to the left hand side of the road, as you stand watching the race approach as per the illustration below. This is for your safety.
